Utah charges sales tax at your home address, roughly 7.05% to 7.75% along the Wasatch Front. Doc fees are not capped in Utah and are negotiable. Utah credits your trade-in against the taxable amount, and it credits the full trade value even if you still owe on it. Use Other Fees for anything else on the buyer's order, such as a lien filing, transport, or emissions charge.

Get a Better Rate and Price

Dealer financing is rarely the cheapest option.

Estimates only. Utah sales tax is based on your residence address, and lenders set rates on credit, term, and vehicle age. Insurance and emissions testing where required are not included, but you can add them under Other Fees. A trade-in payoff is added to what you owe and is not deducted from the taxable amount. Figures reflect Utah DMV fees of $6 title, $44 registration, the age-based uniform fee, and a $10 local fee. For exact registration and DMV charges on a specific vehicle, look them up on Utah's official Motor Vehicle Portal at mvp.tax.utah.gov.
