Who we are
J Car Consultants is a car buying consulting service based in Salt Lake City, Utah, serving the Wasatch Front. This policy covers jcarconsultants.com and the work we do with clients.
What we collect and why
- Your email address, when you unlock our printable checklists or sign up for our email tips. We use it to send what you asked for and occasional updates about our services.
- What you send us. When you call, text or email, we keep your messages and the details of your car search so we can help you.
- Client details. If you work with us, we keep things like your budget, the kind of car you want and the listings we review together, so we can do the work and follow up afterward.
- Anonymous site statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
- Standard server data. Our web host, Vercel, processes basic request information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Our free tools
Some of our tools look things up for you. When you use them, what you enter, such as a VIN, an address, a ZIP code or a vehicle, is sent from your browser directly to the public service that answers it: the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), fueleconomy.gov, the Utah Geospatial Resource Center, the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder and the OSRM routing service. We do not receive or store what you type into the tools.
The checklists page remembers in your own browser that you have already unlocked the downloads, so you are not asked twice. That stays on your device.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address the way any website you visit would.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your information. We only share it with the services we use to run the business, such as Google (email and spreadsheets), Airtable (tracking the cars we find for clients) and Vercel (hosting), or when the law requires it.
Emails from us
You can stop our emails at any time. Reply with “unsubscribe” or email jackson@jcarconsultants.com and we will take you off the list.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email jackson@jcarconsultants.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Our site and services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
